Modeling a lightsaber hilt in 12 minutes. Time-lapse speed modeling. Comment or like if you like what you see. This is relatively early work and I have advanced since, so do forgive some crude techniques or obvious mistakes. I simply made up the design as I went along, nothing was planned before. I started learning 3ds Max 2012 some time ago, mostly learning things by modeling miscellanious stuff like tanks, lightsabers, swords etc. I’m but a beginner, but I’m aiming to include some 3d elements in my future videos. I have received no formal training or education when it comes to 3d modeling, so some foolish mistakes are to be expected. I have always liked the Star Wars movies and actually first short action scene I ever filmed was lightsaber fight back in 2003. It turned out to be bit daunting task to rotoscope all those lightsabers as a kid who had no previous experience of video editing and thus the project was never finished. All modeling done in Autodesk 3ds Max 2012 and glowing blade added in Photoshop. Hope you found this interesting. The music used is; Kevin MacLeod – Evil March Recorded with Bandicam. If you’re tired of watching the other tutorial videos that just look like copies of each other, then you might want to try this one! I packed a bunch of helpful tips along the way, the voices sound normal — or at least as normal as slow can be — and it’s all in high quality widescreen! The old video that I put up was blocked because I had a direct download link in the description, so if you want this video, think DownloadHelper. – The video is flipped horizontally, so just copy what you see – Video plays at 50%, then 100% with tips along the way – The hand motions that are marked throughout the video are played back more slowly at the end (see timestamps) Timestamps: 50% …… 0:10 100% …. 2:22 Motion 1 3:34 Motion 2 3:46 Motion 3 3:58 Motion 4 4:16 Video Rating: 4 / 5
